My name is Gina and I teach yoga at PCC!
A little about me- I was a classically trained dancer, on track to be professional. After suffering a serious hamstring injury that involved permanent nerve damage almost a decade ago, I had to give up my career, and my movement journey ended completely.
Throughout my time healing and learning how to work with this injury, I used yoga to move. Unfortunately, the dancer-perfection-mentality really took over - I would tend not to listen to my body, pushing myself in hot-yoga class settings that didn't feel right for my body. It wasn't until the pandemic, when I started doing yoga in my small mirrorless bedroom, in an unheated environment, that I started to actually feel good and supported in my practice. There was no judgement, and I was able to sustain my movements and feel good in my body wherever it was at day to day.
I then decided I wanted to teach yoga. I really wanted to help people with the tool of mindful movement - to build body awareness, to feel confident in and more connected with their bodies. Being able to teach, especially in movement, was a goal I thought I would never be able to achieve. My own journey to confidence in my body is why I really care about the practice. I hope to try and show everyone who walks into my class the beauty of it.
I love teaching at PCC, because it takes me back to how I fell in love with the practice. Class is always set in a cozy small room, no mirrors, no crazy high temperatures, smaller class sizes, and all the props you will need to feel supported. I strive to make sure everyone feels cared for in class and support all kinds of movements with options for variation to help create your own unique narrative. I hope you join me. <3

New to yoga or want to refine your practice? This is the perfect class to build or refresh your foundation. We move at a slower pace to help ensure we understand each posture and how to safely move in and out of those postures. Smaller class sizes allow participants to freely ask questions and allow for more attention to everyone in class. This is the perfect place to gain confidence, build body awareness, flexibility, strength, and leave feeling at ease!
This class is aimed for participants who already have the basic knowledge and foundation of a vinyasa yoga class. The class is set at a slightly faster pace. With variations offered on postures, you can help grow your practice and make each class your own with wherever you are at on your yoga journey. We focus on one peak posture that we build up to throughout the entire class.
This class is aimed for participants who have a deep understanding of their own practice. Moving at a faster pace, this class is very focused on the more complex peak postures, and students finding their own grace and style while moving throughout class.
Come stretch and meditate in a peaceful candle lit environment. This class is aimed to help your body fully wind down after a long day, and encourage your nervous system to enter rest and digest. We use blocks, props, blankets, and bolsters to help support your body in these restorative poses that help you focus on your breath, and help release tension in your whole body.
